The BCCC in partnership with Department of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Development (DFATD), Heenan Blaikie and CCA would like to invite you to a roundtable with Professor Marcus Freitas, of Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) to discuss Brazilian Foreign Policy and doing business in Brazil.
Prof. Freitas teaches international law and international relations at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation, where he served as the coordinator of their International Relations Programme until December 2013. His professional experience in Washington, DC includes the Inter-American Bank and Occidental Petroleum Corporation, where he worked in governmental affairs. He is also president of the Sao Paulo Directorate of the Progressive Party, having run for vice governor of the State of Sao Paulo in 2010, where his party polled in third place with more than 1.2 million votes. He currently also serves as the Administrative Director of the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Housing Company. Marcus holds an LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) degree from the University of Sao Paulo, a master's from Cornell University and a master's in economics and international relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

ROAD TO SOCHI 2014: OSMOND WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP; SECURES SPOT IN SOCHI



OTTAWA -- Kaetlyn Osmond won her second consecutive women's singles title at the Canadian figure skating championships Saturday, and officially secured her spot in the Sochi Olympics.
The 18-year-old from Marystown, N.L., battled back from two injuries that kept her off for much of the past four months, to score 207.28 points.
Gabrielle Daleman, a 15-year-old from Newmarket, Ont., provided the surprise of the event, passing Amelie Lacoste in the long program to finish second with 182.47.
Lacoste, from Delson, Que., was third with 166.69.
Canada has two women's berths at the Sochi Olympics. The team will be announced Sunday.
